Getting the most from your new Torpey product

  • Avoid using your hurley straight away in a match or clashing scenario. It is recommended that you ‘break the hurley in’ by pucking a ball with the hurley over the course of a week prior to playing with it in a game. The pucking of the ball compacts the fibres of the hurley bás and, therefore, should give more strength to the hurley and give it longevity.
  • Please be mindful of where you store your hurley as this may affect the quality of your hurley over time. Cold-damp conditions can cause moisture to seep into the hurley, which may cause the hurley to become heavier and cause the hurley to become more susceptible to breakage. Storing your hurley in very dry and warm conditions may cause it to become very brittle and cause the hurley to become more susceptible to breaking.
  • Bambú hurleys require a slightly higher storage temperature than ash. We recommend storing Bambú hurleys inside however not too close too radiators or excessively high temperatures.
  • Ash hurleys are more susceptible to change in weights and moisture content. It is recommended to store hurleys in a cool (mild) dry place. For example a porch in the summer where it isn’t exposed to extreme heat or cold

Terms and Conditions

  • All users of Torpey Hurleys website are subject to the outlined terms and conditions and other applicable laws. If you do not agree to these terms and conditions, please refrain from using this website.
  • As hurley manufacturers we recommend choosing Medium-Heavy hurleys. Light hurleys may not have the same longevity as heavier hurleys. Choosing a light hurley is at the customer’s discretion and we cannot hold responsibility for any breakages to lightweight hurleys.
  • We recommend only adding a metal band to a hurley once it has broken. Any metal bands that are added, are at the customer’s discretion.
  • Please note that any alterations or customisations a customer makes to a hurley may introduce defects to the structure of the hurley or weaken the hurley and we cannot hold any responsibility to damage to the hurley after this point.
  • Once hurleys have been used in competitive action (training/games) we cannot be held responsible for how the hurley reacts in unpredictable and unique scenarios. Torpey will not hold any responsibility for hurleys broken in competitive action.

Pro Tekkers X Torpey Competition Terms and Conditions
1. By participating in this competition, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

2. Entry into the competition is open worldwide.

3. Entry into the competition is through social media, Facebook, Instagram & TikTok. To enter, you must record yourself stating your Name and GAA club, then do a piece of skill using a hurley. You must tag both Torpey & Pro-Hurling for your entry to be valid.

4. Entries must be submitted between the start date of the competition and the closing date, which will be announced on the Torpey & Pro-Hurling social media pages.

5. Multiple entries per person are allowed, but each entry must be a new video of the participant stating their name and GAA club, then doing a different piece of skill using a hurley. To be considered valid, each entry must be tagged with both Torpey & Pro-Hurling. If multiple entries are received from the same person using the same video or without tagging Torpey & Pro-Hurling, only the first entry will be considered..

6. The prize is worth up to €5000 and includes a subscription for your team to Pro-Hurling along with 30 Bambú hurleys for your team. There is no cash alternative to this prize, and no returns will be valid on the hurleys.

7. The winner will be chosen by Pro-Hurling and Torpey from all valid entries received during the competition period.

8. The winner will be contacted via the social media platform they used to enter the competition. If the winner does not respond within 7 days of being contacted, another winner will be chosen at random.

9. For entries under the age of 18, a club official, parent, or guardian will be contacted through the social media platform used to enter the competition to obtain the necessary details for the prize winner.

10. The prize is non-transferable and non-exchangeable.

11. Torpey & Pro-Hurling reserve the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice.

12. Torpey & Pro-Hurling are not responsible for any technical issues or problems which may result in entries not being received.

13. By entering the competition, you agree to the use of your name, GAA club, and entry for promotional purposes by Torpey & Pro-Hurling.

14. These terms and conditions are governed by Irish law and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.

15. By entering the competition, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Torpey & Pro-Hurling from and against any claims, actions, proceedings, losses, damages, expenses and costs (including without limitation court costs and reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with your entry into the competition, any breach of these terms and conditions, or any other negligence or wrongdoing by you.

16. By entering the competition, you agree that Torpey & Pro-Hurling may process your personal data for the purposes of administering the competition and for marketing purposes in accordance with our privacy policy.

17. This competition is not sponsored, endorsed, or administered by Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok.

Online Hurley Orders

Please note it can take up to 5-7 working days to process your order in store, and up an additional 2-3 days for posting to anywhere in Ireland. We will do our best to process orders as quickly as possible depending on stock levels.

Torpey’s do our utmost to ensure you receive a hurley that meets your specific requirements based on the information we receive.

When you receive your hurley please inspect the hurley immediately for defects and to make sure you are happy with it prior to use or alteration. If you are not happy with the hurley please contact the office via telephone, e-mail or visit to the store during working hours to arrange a direct inspection of the product.

For hurleys returned via post please note the price of return shipping will not be refunded. Hurleys returned via courier/post are the responsibility of the customer, and Torpey Hurleys can not take any responsibility for goods that are lost in transit or damaged in transit. If any item returned breaches any of the terms outlined in this policy, we reserve the right to return the item back to you in the same condition it was received in.


Privacy Policy

Torpey Hurleys aim to protect and respect the privacy or all our customers, both online customers and shop visitors.

The information Torpey Hurleys collect from customers is used for billing and administration purposes only and is kept fully confidential. The nature of the information Torpey Hurleys require to deal with online orders and customer queries generally involve contact details (such as name, address, and phone number) and payment information (such as credit/debit card information). Please note billing information is not stored in any form and is discarded in a manner to ensure confidentiality after the order has been processed. Some customer’s contact details may be stored to ensure repeat orders are processed promptly. None of the information we gather is passed onto third parties.

When visitors use the website, information such as the ISP’s domain, the time accessed and the pages visited will be stored by us. This is to analyse the web traffic and improve content of the site.

SUBSCRIPTION TERMS AND CONDITIONS

General
1.1 All issues raised in general terms and conditions also apply to subscription terms and conditions. Some items below may also be applicable for products.
1.2 Torpey issues a written acceptance confirmation of Orders (the “Purchase Confirmation”). The formation of a contract of sale between Torpey and the Customer (the “Contract”) will take place upon the Customer’s receipt of the Purchase Confirmation. The Purchase Confirmation shall determine the relevant subject matter and extent of the Contract, also where the Customer paid the Products in advance.
1.3 Torpey shall have the right to refuse an Order as well as to cancel or not to carry out confirmed Orders at any time without providing any reasons and with no liability to Customer or any third party. If Customer has already paid for such Products, Torpey will refund Customer the full amount without any interests and will not incur further liability to Customer.
1.4 The presentation of the Products, the Subscription Plans and the indications of the respective prices on the Site do not constitute legally binding offers but are non-binding invitations to place an order.
1.5 To subscribe for a Subscription Plan and by clicking the “Pay Now” button, you are placing a binding offer to subscribe for the Products in your shopping cart (the “Order”).
1.6 Each Subscription Plan is subject to an automatic, recurring monthly subscription fee, which is based on the Subscription Plan you choose (the “Subscription Fee”).
1.7 The current monthly pricing for a respective Subscription Plan can be found on the respective Torpey product page or via this link https://torpey.ie/shop/bambu-subscription/. Prices payable are those in the indicated currency and in effect at the time of formation of the Contract. Prices indicated on the Site include value added tax but exclude shipping costs (where applicable) and import duties (where applicable).
1.8 Torpey reserves the right to update or change the prices or other charges associated with the Subscription Plan. Torpey will provide you with notice of such changes, such as by email or a notice posted on the Site, at least 30 days before the change takes effect.
1.9 If an outstanding payment is not successfully settled, due to expiration, insufficient funds, or otherwise, we may suspend your Subscription Plan until we receive a valid payment.

Term and Termination
2.1 Acceptance of an Order and the formation of a subscription contract between you and Torpey (the “Contract”) will take place only upon the earlier of: (a) Torpey issuing written acceptance confirmation of the Order (b) receipt of confirmation that the first Products under the Subscription Plan have been shipped to you; or (c) the delivery of the first Products according to the Subscription Plan to you. Such confirmation(s) or delivery of the Products shall determine the relevant subject matter and extent of the Contract.
2.2 The subscription cannot be cancelled until the twelve (12) months have elapsed and until the total fees due over the twelve (12) months has been paid in full.
2.3 After the Initial Term, the Subscription Plan will automatically continue indefinitely and may be terminated by any party at any time. You can terminate your Subscription Plan by logging into your user account on the Site.
2.4 Whenever a Contract is terminated, the termination will become effective immediately. If the Subscription Plan has already charged for the current month, you will be charged for the month’s Subscription Fee. Payments are nonrefundable and there are no refunds or credits for partially used periods. Following any termination, you will continue to have access to the services until the Termination Effective Date.

Delivery
3.1 Delivery of the Products is only possible in selected countries where Torpey Subscription is made available. The Subscription model is only available in the Republic of Ireland
3.2 Unless explicitly stipulated in writing by Torpey, the delivery dates indicated shall only be non-binding estimates, made to the best of Torpey’s knowledge. Should a delivery be delayed beyond the dates explicitly confirmed by Torpey, you may set a grace period of at least fifteen (15) business days. After expiry of such grace period, you may withdraw from the respective Order and Torpey shall refund the purchase price for such Products, if already paid; further claims are excluded.
Torpey shall be entitled to partial deliveries, and the Customer hereby accepts partial deliveries.

Change of Address.
4.1 If you change your address at any time during your Subscription Plan, you must update your personal details by logging into your user account on the Site. It is not possible to change your address for Products which have already been shipped to you and are in transit.
4.2 As outlined in Section 3.1, the Subscription Plan is only made available in selected countries. You agree that Torpey will not be held responsible for failure to deliver the Products if you have provided us with an incorrect address, failed to update your address or if your new address is in a country where Torpey Bambú subscription is not available.
4.3 In certain circumstances, your Subscription Plan may be terminated, and you might be required to register for a new subscription at your new address.

Replacements, Breakages and Returns
5.1 Torpey will deliver 2 hurleys to you to begin your subscription plan. Thereafter you will receive 2 hurleys every 6 months.
5.2 Should the customer need there hurleys before the 6-month timeframe they can submit a request to [email protected] for early delivery. Torpey does not guarantee this request and reserves the right to refuse this request.
5.3 If Torpey suspects foul play in any instance they reserve the right to cancel the subscription on the customer. The customer will pay out the remaining 12 months of the contract.
5.4 For the duration of the subscription period Torpey endeavors to pay for deliveries to the customer free of charge after the first order. Any returning products from the customer will be paid for by the customer (if this is ever deemed necessary). Torpey reserves the right to change this policy at any time during the subscription period, in which case the customer will be given at least a 30-day notice period (see section 1.8).

Information regarding the statutory right of withdrawal for EU customers
6.1 You have the right to withdraw from the Contract within 14 days (the “Notice Period”) from the day on which you, or a third party designated by you (other than the carrier), first took possession of the Products without giving any reasons. In order to exercise your right of withdrawal you must notify us by sending an unequivocal declaration (e.g. letter via post or e-mail). You may find our contact details here: https://torpey.ie/terms-conditions/. You may also use the form sent out with the original product for these purposes, but this is not required. To make use of your right of withdrawal, you must send your notice before the expiration of the Notice Period.
6.2 Consequences of withdrawal: If you withdraw from the Contract, we will refund all payments we received from you, including delivery costs (except any additional costs incurred as a result of you choosing a delivery method other than the lowest-cost standard delivery offered by us), without undue delay and at least within 14 days from the day on which we received your notice of withdrawal. We will process any such reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the Order. We will not charge you any fees for the refund. We may withhold the refund until we have received the Products, or until you have provided proof that you have returned the Products (whichever occurs earlier). You are required to return all Products to us without undue delay, but at least within 14 days from the day on which you submit your notice of withdrawal. You will be required to pay the return shipping costs. You will be required to cover any depreciation in the value of Products if the depreciation is attributable to your improper handling of the Products when examining its condition, properties and function.
6.3 Exclusions: The right of withdrawal is excluded for contracts on the supply of goods (i) which are made to your specifications or are clearly personalised or (ii) which are liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly or (iii) which are sealed and are not suitable for return due to health protection or hygiene reasons, provided they were unsealed after delivery.
Warranty

7.1 A Subscription Plan can only be placed on hold if a desired size is out of stock. If you order a Product that is unavailable, then Torpey will put the active Subscription Plan on hold and will pause the monthly payments until the Product becomes available.
Payments and Terms of Payment

8.1 A subscription plan is subject to an automatic recurring monthly subscription fee. The payment of the monthly fee is the customers responsibility to ensure sufficient funds are in the account at the renewal date.
8.2 The current monthly pricing for the subscription fees can be found at https://torpey.ie/shop/bambu-subscription/. Prices indicated on the Site include value added tax but exclude shipping costs (where applicable) and import duties (where applicable).
8.3 We reserve the right to update or change the prices or other charges associated with the Subscription Plan. We will provide you with notice of such changes, such as by email or a notice posted on the Site, at least 30 days before the change will take effect.
8.4 We reserve the right to verify credit or debit card payments prior to acceptance. If the payment method cannot be verified, is invalid or is otherwise not acceptable, your Order may be suspended or cancelled. You must resolve any payment method problems and any outstanding balances before we proceed with your order. If you want to change or update your payment method information, you can do so at any time by logging into your account on the site. If an outstanding payment is not successfully settled, you remain responsible for any uncollected amounts and authorise us to continue billing the payment method, as it may be updated.
8.5 If an outstanding payment is not successfully settled, due to expiration, insufficient funds, or otherwise, we reserve the right to charge you in full and/or cancel your subscription with immediate effect.
