We only have one precious earth. Together let’s leave a lasting legacy. This year we continued our contribution to the historic and life changing campaign in Kenya – Plant the Planet Games.
This year marks the second chapter of our involvement in the Plant the Planet Games, where Torpey proudly sponsors the hurleys for the All-Star, Male and Female game. In November, we were proud to stand shoulder to shoulder, with the Warriors for Humanity in their mission to plant one million trees in Africa and highlight how a collective effort can bring about meaningful change.
When we got involved with the event last year, we knew that our goals aligned seamlessly. It wasn’t just an opportunity to sponsor hurleys; it was a chance to stand side by side with a cause that resonates with Torpey’s values.
In November, a group of Irish GAA stars embarked on a remarkable journey to Kenya, as part of the Warriors for Humanity campaign, supporting Self Help Africa. Along with taking part in the second-ever All-Star, Male and Female game in Africa, the participants aim to raise €10,000 each and plant one million trees. These athletes undertook the challenge, to support Self Help Africa’s mission to alleviate hunger, poverty, and social inequality, and combat the effects of climate change.
The Plant The Planet Games provide a platform for us to contribute meaningfully to a cause that transcends sports. Each strike of the hurley and each planted tree is a testament to the collective power of our GAA community. Together, we are sowing the seeds of positive change, ensuring that the impact of our actions endures long after the final whistle.
The ethos behind Torpey Bambú, mirrors the principles upheld by the Warriors for Humanity. We embarked on the journey of creating a hurley that not only excels in performance but also treads lightly on the Earth. Our commitment to sustainability extends beyond the products we create; it’s a reflection of our values and a promise to contribute to a greener, healthier planet.
As we supported the Warriors for Humanity in their endeavour to plant one million trees in Africa, we recognise the profound impact that each tree will have on a family’s livelihood. Self Help Africa has tirelessly worked alongside local farmers, communities, and experts for decades. Each tree planted during the Plant The Planet Games represents not only an ecological contribution but also a lifeline for an African family.
Together, we are sowing the seeds of hope, sustainability, and a better tomorrow. Our hurleys may strike the sliotar today, but our collective actions will resonate for years to come, leaving a legacy that goes beyond the playing field and touches the very roots of a brighter future. In a world teeming with challenges, it takes a collective effort to bring about meaningful change.
